What I Learned in Four Years Of Business

What have I learned over the last four years in business? Woof, where to begin?

1. Find Your People

I love on my couples, partners and peers and my business wouldn't be what it is today without them. I've clarified what work resonates with me and who I can best support. My two favorite moments are sitting across from you, hearing you articulate your love for each other, maybe in ways you haven't before, and seeing you finally walk down the aisle to make it all official.

2. If It Sounds Too Good To Be True...

It probably is. The request for "just easy day-of setup" is never easy or just setup or successful with no time to prepare and review the plan. If you're thinking of asking for "day-of-coordination", go for it. Because at least if you ask, I can offer you value right then and there, to educate you around the realities of wedding planning and coordination. Whether we work together or not- you'll come out ahead of where you were before.

3. My Office Is My Sanctuary

I put a lot of hard work into designing and curating my home office. Most of you only get to see a small part of it from the zoom window, but those who are now joining me for in person meetings and premarital counseling, it means the world to me to welcome you into my most creative space and support you. That's not to say we can't meet for a coffee, drink or walking meeting!

4. Reflection Is Key

Every year, season, month and wedding, I take time to reflect on what went well and what I want to improve on or pivot to. It takes courage to be open to change and every time I try something new it's an experiment, challenge, and importantly- fun! As a professionally risk-adverse business owner (yes, you do need a rain plan if anything is outside), it can be scary to jump into something outside my comfort-zone. But every time I’ve felt terrified and excited at the same time? It’s meant great things are ahead.

Cheers to 4 years and the future!
